BILLINGS FALLS

Billings Falls overhead

Billing Falls detail

DESCRIPTION: Billings Falls is usually viewed from above, from the upper Gulf Hagas rim trail. Numerous viewing points provide a variety of perspectives. Access to the falls directly requires a very difficult climb down the wall of the gorge (no trail), and is not recommended. At Billings Falls, the east branch of the Pleasant River cascades 18 feet into a small plunge pool at the upper edge of a massively larger circular pool created earlier in the Gulf’s history. Both pools are quite deep, although not uniformly so.
